Challenge
Same Same But Different Music & Arts Festival is a four-day campout where music, art, and wellness converge to create a wide-ranging experience designed to rejuvenate your mind, body, and soul. The weekend takes place on the beach in Lake Perris State Park in Southern California and plays host to 3 Floatopia day parties, 30+ wellness workshops, 4 stages of funk, jam, and electronic music, endless areas to explore, and late-night beach parties that go deep into the night.
Goal
Music festival coverage is quite the challenge - our team was able to utilize a custom schedule to complete our shot-list given from festival management. Our team was tasked with creating a 60 second daily recap video, high-res images and exported videos for all brand partnership activations, recap videos of select artists and brand partnerships, and a full length recap of the entire weekend.
Solution
We had a team of 8 creatives spread across the grounds to complete our shot-list. Every day we'd meet before the gates opened to generate a schedule of artists, brands, and photography goals. We'd typically meet late afternoon to download media and plan for the headliner shows. We would then assign an editor to begin work on the daily recap while the rest of the team went back into the field so that the edit would leave space for final clips before exporting.
